The hype of flaxseeds in the last century has skyrocketed with the increase in consumer sales and companies introducing big scale flaxseed based products.

People are becoming more aware of nature’s medicine. Several studies have shown that the use of flaxseeds helped lower risks of cardiovascular diseases and more.

What are these little seeds packed with, that we just can’t get enough?

Flaxseeds contain omega-3 fatty acids which is said to have one of the hightest counts of this acid than any other plant based food.

Flaxseeds contain antioxidants which breaks free from the foods we consume into our bloodstream.

Flaxseeds also contain protein. vitamins and fibers. All these nutrients are said to help with various health risks we undergo such as :

  • cancer

  1. Flaxseeds gel for hair

This is prepared with flaxseeds and water. Make sure the flaxseeds are whole and NOT ground.

Take a saucepan, pour 500 ml of water in.

Next, take a 1/4 cup of whole flaxseeds and pour it in, make sure they are submerged and bring it to a boil.

You should be seeing white foam forming during the boil. Make sure the seeds do not stick to the pan. It takes about 10 minutes from putting fresh water in the pan to the white foaming. The moment you see a mucus trail, turn it of, strain in a airtight jar or something and VOILA!

2. Flaxseed Face Mask

Repeat the same procedure for a gel and then mix with an essential oil that your skin might need.

For example:

Jojoba oil, lavender oil and and turmeric are good for dry skin.

Ylang Ylang oil, eucalyptus oil and tea tree oil for oily skin.

The choice is yours!

Flaxseeds eaten everyday will without doubt improve overall health issues, skin issues and hair issues. Mixing your daily food with 2 teaspoons of flaxseeds is a good way to get it inside.

Enjoy and shine away!
